The Greenhouse Gases Emissions and Feedback Programme organises events, meetings and other activities target different audiences outside the project community (internal project meetings are not listed here).
Forthcoming events
23-28 April 2017: Greenhouse Gas session at the EGU General Assembly 2017
We will continue our successful session on "Quantifying greenhouse gas fluxes on local, regional and global scales using atmosphere, ocean and biosphere measurements" at the EGU General Assembly (abstract deadline: 17 January 2017). The precise date and time of the session will be decided around 1 March when the programme is finalised.
8-9 March 2017: Greenhouse Gases in ocean, atmosphere and biosphere. Open meeting at the Royal Society, London
We are organising a comprehensive outward-facing 2-day meeting at the Royal Society in London to engage with stakeholders and the wider community on the outcomes of the GHG Programme.
10-11 Jan 2017: GHG Programme Synthesis Meeting, Leeds
This 2-day meeting brings together all project partners to identify key outcomes from the GHG Programme and challenges for future research.
Past events
2-12 August 2016: International Summer School on Global Greenhouse Gases, National Oceanography Centre, Spouthampton
This intensive course was designed for advanced PhD students and post-doctoral researchers in the natural sciences who want to develop a solid understanding of the role of key greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the Earth system and the processes that govern their dynamics in the atmosphere, ocean and biosphere
18 April 2016: Greenhouse Gas session at the EGU General Assembly 2016
We organised a session "Quantifying greenhouse gas fluxes on local, regional and global scales using atmosphere, ocean and biosphere measurements" at the EGU General Assembly, which attracted 67 abstracts, a third of them from international colleagues who are not part of the UK GHG Programme. As one of the largest sessions in the Atmospheric Sciences Programme Group, we were allocated a full day with 18 oral and 49 poster slots in a 300 seat auditorium.
2-4 November 2015: Joint GHG Meeting, 2-4 Nov. 2015
The GHG Emissions and Feedback Programme is organising Joint GHG Meeting in Edinburgh on Monday to Wednesday, 2-4 November 2015, in Edinburgh. It combines the annual internal project meetings with an open inclusive session to connect with the wider GHG community.
16-23 August 2015: International Summer School on Global Greenhouse Gases, Edinburgh
This intensive course was designed for advanced PhD students and post-doctoral researchers in the natural sciences who want to develop a solid understanding of the role of key greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the Earth system and the processes that govern their dynamics in the atmosphere, ocean and biosphere
7-8 January 2015: Greenhouse Gas Townhall Meeting, Southampton
We organised this meeting for the community to exchange ideas and identify concrete key needs for future greenhouse gas research in the UK, and to explore opportunities and developments in related national and international activities. More information...
12 March 2014: Stakeholder Meeting, London
The aim of this relatively small meeting was to engage with interested, relevant parties from industry, government, and the third sector. More information...
